POSITION SUMMARY

The Family Support Case Manager provides services to at risk children and their parents. Services include in home parenting skill building, case management, parenting classes, and supervised visits.

QUALIFICATIONS
(Consideration may be given for equivalent knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience)

• B.A. in Mental Health related field, or equivalent experience, required.
• Two years of experience in case management.
• Knowledge of drug and alcohol abuse and treatment options.
• Knowledge of mental illness, FASD, and mental and physical disabilities affecting clients.
• Knowledge of child protection and ICWA laws.
• Excellent interpersonal communications, public speaking, and presentation skills
• Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR, Part 2 regulations.
• Ability to lift program materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Valid Alaska Driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to travel in and out of state for grant requirements
• Knowledge and experience working with Alaska Native/American Indian people preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Conduct family skill development and parenting classes, specific to individualized parenting and family needs, both office-based and in-home.
• Conduct pre & post parenting skill assessments
• Refers clients to mental health and substance abuse counseling services and other community resources.
• Supervision of parental visitation with children.
• Provides transportation to parents and their children as needed.
• Adheres to grant and budget requirements
• Track referral and client numbers for Dashboard Reports
• Maintain client records in accordance with KIT standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
